Black Yoshi QR Code – Nintendo 3DS

To capture Black Yoshi all you need to do is fire up Mario Tennis Open and access the secret QR scanning screen by pressing up on the D-Pad and pressing Start from the File Select screen.

From there all you need to do is hold your 3DS up to the QR Code and Black Yoshi will burst out of the code.

  1. Turn your 3DS on.
  2. Go to the system settings.
  3. Tap “Other Settings”.
  4. Go to the last page. Tap “System Update”.
  5. Wait until it’s done loading.
  6. Go to the home menu. Press R or L and the camera should come up.
  7. Go onto “Scan QR Code”.
  8. Align the 3DS with the QR code and it will scan.

Mario Tennis Open To Feature QR Code Un-lockables

New characters can be unlocked in the game not just via gameplay, but even via QR codes! It’s not known how or where these precious squares of digital goodness will be distributed,  be sure to keep your eyes open. Three announced un-lockable characters are Baby Mario, a Luma (the cheery star things from the Super Mario Galaxy games), and the beastly undead Dry Bowser.

Nintendo 3DS System Update v. 4.0.0-7  adds a QR Code option — the 3DS has been able to scan QR codes for ever, but now the eShop gives you a new option. Tap this in the Settings/Other menu, scan a QR code and it’ll open the relevant page in the eShop.

The QR Code function in the eShop is also an alternative to Download Codes. You’ll be able to Scan a QRcode in order to Redeem Gifts like Games, Apps, and Cash Credit. Basically so you can easily purchase content online and then send it to your 3DS. Nintendo has said that they’re working on an eShop Website, and also it would make redeeming Club Nintendo Prizes a whole lot easier.
